This watch is a reissue of the original Dongfeng watch that was made by Tianjin Watch Factory in September of 1966, the original Dongfeng watch has the ST5 movement that was designed and developed by the engineers and technicians of Tianjin Watch Factory, which is of extraordinary significance in Chinese watchmaking.
Dongfeng was a sub-brand of the Tianjin Watch Factory, it was the first Chinese watch brand exported to overseas market. There's a Chinese idiom "万事俱备，只欠东风" which means "All is ready expect for the east wind", and the "east wind" in Chinese is 东风 or "Dongfeng" in Pinyin, so Chinese people consider Dongfeng as a very important or critical condition. The calligraphy of "Dongfeng" (东风) on the dial and case back are from Mao Zedong, former president of China.

"ZHONGGUO TIANJIN" is the Pinyin form of the Chinese characters "中国天津" which means "China Tianjin", Tianjin is a city near Beijing.
胖去如抽丝 - Losing weight as slowly as drawing silk. This phrase on the back of the folding fan is adapted from the folk saying "Illness comes like a landslide, but recovers as slowly as drawn silk", meaning that sickness arrives quickly but goes away slowly. Seagull uses this familiar expression within the otherwise serious "Dongfeng/East Wind" theme to create a humorous contrast, adding both playfulness and talking points to the presentation.
